Negative shape study from class this week
Image
If you missed class this week we did a negative shape study from this back lit still life. If you want to practice this exercise at home in your sketchbook…draw the “white” negative shapes you see first…then come back in with a pencil, marker , or black crayon and fill in the positive “dark” shapes. I’ll post some of the responses later when I get a chance to look them over and take pics.

Seeing Negative Shapes
Image
To help you with your homework assignment due next week. Here the negative shapes have been painted black. You could do this with a sharpie or marker if it makes it easier for you to see the negative shapes. You can do a close up…or just a part of the bike like this.
Homework for Week of Sept. 24th and 26th…due week of Oct. 1st and 3rd
Image
For this week I would like you to use a bicycle as a subject…study the negative spaces that you see.
You will need to let the bike touch the edges of the page or create a smaller format on your page.
