The next couple of weeks you will be working on a Mandala project. The meaning of Mandala comes from Sanskrit meaning “circle.” Even though it may be dominated by squares or triangles, a mandala has a concentric structure. Mandalas offer balancing visual elements, symbolizing unity and harmony. The meanings of individual mandalas is usually different and unique to each mandala. The goal of the mandala is to serve as a tool on our spiritual journey as it symbolizes cosmic and psychic order. Some artists make Mandalas as a practice to focus their creative abilities, a kind of a meditation to clear their mind and set an intention for their day in the studio.
Here is a link to a web-site that lets you choose and color a Mandala on line. Please choose one that interests you and color it in. If you have a color printer I would like for you to print it out….or if not you may save it on your device and show it to me electronically in class.

If by chance you get directed to a pop up ad you should be able to close that out to get back to the Mandala you chose. When you click on the Mandala it should give you an option of coloring on-line. Have fun!
