Try doing a Google search for simple Linocut Prints or simple Woodcut Prints…..choose an image that is compelling to you and print it out or sketch it and bring to class to use for designing your relief printmaking project next week. Remember it will be reversed so you may need to flip the image if you want the final print to face a certain way.

This is just to inspire you…you should be thinking about how you can make it your own unique creation!

For this next week I want you to research Linocut prints or Woodcut prints and then choose an image and print it out or create your own image and bring it to class ready to use to transfer to a relief print block that is either 6″X8″ or 4″X 5.5″

Any image will do as long as it has an interesting positive negative shape relationship and it appeals to you. Remember the final print will be a reverse of your image so if you need a certain orientation you may need to flip the image in Microsoft Word.

The image you choose is only an inspiration….think about how to make it your own unique creation!

I’m painting a commission of a Napa Valley Vineyard for a client to go in a very specific wall space in their house.

We will be working with Texture the next couple of weeks. For this week I want you to draw any tree bark that you find interesting in your sketchbook. Please look at a real tree and not photo.Try and simulate the textures that you see and please use a format.

Please check your grades for any homework assignments that are marked as missing (M) or Absent (A) and show them to me this week. Quarter grades go in by next Monday and any missing work will have to be recorded as a 0.
